KANSAS CITY, MO, UNITED STATES, June 1, 2023/EINPresswire.com/ -- Kansas City is gearing up for the much-anticipated return of the annual PRIDE Parade on Saturday, June 10, 2023, organized by the Kansas City PRIDE Community Alliance. Set to kick off at 11:00 am in the lively Westport Entertainment District, this year's parade promises a joyous celebration of diversity, unity, and allyship.

The Westport bar, Fountain Haus, is a focal point for the parade at its start, located on the corner of Westport and Broadway. The LGBTQ-owned drinking establishment has three floors overlooking the beginning of the parade route.

Organizers expect visitors from all walks of life to come together as allies of the LGBTQ+ community and have fun at this event, where all are welcome. The PRIDE Parade offers a dazzling array of floats, music, community organizations, and businesses celebrating diversity and inclusion alongside the route from Westport to Theis Park just east of the Plaza.

"This year's PRIDE Parade offers a platform for our community to uplift and support the LGBTQ+ community given the recent adversity," said Lexie Boyd, Westport’s Special Events Manager. " Westport is proud of the LGBTQ+ resilience and being at the parade start. We are committed to being a safe and inclusive space to come together, where the community embraces one's authentic self and lives freely. Whether someone is coming out or going out, accepting one another improves our world."

"We are immensely grateful to all the sponsors, volunteers, and participants who have dedicated their time and resources to make this event possible," added Jay Mahaney, Director of the Parade. "Their unwavering support reflects the importance of fostering a culture that embraces diversity and equality for all."

Kansas City's PRIDE Parade has long been known for its fun atmosphere, infectious energy, smiles, laughter, and good times. In addition to the parade, attendees can look forward to many accompanying festivities, including live music, dance performances, food vendors, and information booths at Theis Park.
