On Tuesday, alternate captain  Bo Horvat told TSN 1040 that the players had decided to put in a ban on playing video games on the road.

“Yeah, that’s definitely a no-go on the road,” he told Don Taylor and Bob Marjanovich. “No more Fortnite. No more bringing video games on the road. It’s strictly team meals, team dinners and hanging out with the guys. So we put an end to that.”

Fortnite is a wildly popular online survival game played by millions of people worldwide.

“Hopefully a lot of parents and little kids are listening right now. I don’t play it. Nor will I ever,” said Horvat.

Not everybody agrees with Horvat, however. Winnipeg Jets star sniper Patrik Laine, who is a dedicated Fortnite player and actually buys TVs on the road so he can play with teammate Nik Ehlers, told reporters in Winnipeg that the Canucks only banned video games because “they need something to blame after last year.”
