It's the time of year that gamers look forward to more than Christmas - The Electronic Entertainment Expo.

More commonly known as E3, the expo in Los Angeles is the place where all the major developers announce their new titles and software - as well as adding hype to previously announced games.

A number of the big guns have already taken to the stage, with Microsoft Xbox, Bethesda and EA all holding their conferences over the weekend.

But there are still plenty of high-profile companies to speak in the coming days - including Ubisoft and PlayStation.

Will Sony drop any more details about the next gen PlayStation 5? And will Ubisoft provide more details about The Division 2 and Assassin's Creed Odyssey?

Which Bethesda games were announced?

The North American game developer has had a strong E3 2018 already and has teased and revealed a whole host of Triple A titles from the mega Fallout 76 to a little peek at the Elder Scrolls 6.

The full list of games they showed off are:

Fallout 76 - As expected, Fallout 76 is an entirely online Fallout game. It will be out in November.

Rage 2 - The first Rage game was pretty 'Mad Max-esque', the second one looks to go flat out on that theme.

Doom Eternal - If you played the extremely absurd but also extremely entertaining Doom 2016 reboot then you know what to expect here. Shoot everything.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood - A Wolfenstein game but set in the 80s. This sounds like a formula concocted in some sort of post-apocalyptic yet bright pink neon heaven.

Starfield - This is a new IPP and a sci-fi one at that. It was described as 'next-gen' so it's likely we won't see it until the next generation of consoles are launched.

The Elder Scrolls VI - As with Starfield, this could be another game that won't arrive until the new consoles are revealed. There is no info on a rumoured release date yet.

What did Sony announce at their press conference?

It's the highlight of the show for PlayStation users. While there was nothing on the rumoured PS5, there was a bit more light shed on previously unveiled titles.

The Last of Us 2 - We finally got to see some gameplay from the hotly anticipated sequel. This showed Ellie hanging out with friends before cutting to her hunting some nasty looking guys in a darks woods.

Ghost of Tsushima - An open-world samurai game. This has previously been announced but it is the first time we've seen some ganeplay. It looks a bit like The Witcher 3 set in Feudal Japan.

Death Stranding - We also got to see some gameplay from Hideo Kojima's latest project which features Norman Reedus. Think Metal Gear V with shades of Farpoint. Not sure anyone really understands what's going on in the trailer though.

Nioh 2 - The biggest surprise announcement from what was a largely a low key conference. A sequel to the monster-hunting RPG set in 1600s Japan is coming to PlayStation.

What did Ubisoft unveil during their conference?

Assassin's Creed Odyssey - Another E3, another Assassin's Creed gameplay trailer. This time it looks like our hero(?) is roaming the streets of Ancient Greece. Last year's Origins was the best Assassin's Creed game for some years, so it will be seen if Odyssey can live up to its predecessor.

The Division 2 - It's been rumoured for a while but Ubisoft have released details of the latest installment to The Division. This time the setting is a post-apocalyptic Washington DC.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 - We didn't hear anything about the gameplay in this cinematic trailer, but it ended with a reveal that BG&E star Jade will make an appearance.

Skull & Bones - Pirate games seems all the rage at the moment. This one is billed as a shared world online game - so similar to Xbox's Sea of Thieves by the sounds of it.

Transferrence - Not much love for PSVR at this year's conference, but this project does look intresting. it is being created by Ubisoft with Elijah Wood's production company.

What did Nintendo announce at their conference?

Taking place on Tuesday, the first giant announcement at the Nintendo event was that Fortnite would be coming out on the Switch instantly, and for free!

You can watch the livestream from IGN here.

Fortnite - The PvP battle royale which has taken over the globe is free and available on Switch from the Nintendo eShop.

Super Smash Bros. - The game will feature EVERY single character from every Super Smash Bros. game, that's over 60 in total.

What was announced at the Square Enix conference?

It was the first Square Enix conference for a few years. So what did they announce? Not a lot really.

Kingdom Hearts III - This was already shown at the Microsoft conference yesterday. But you can't have too much of a good thing right?

Babylon’s Fall - Not much details from the trailer, but it will be released next year on PS4 and Steam.

The Quiet Man - Described as 'an immersive, story-driven, cinematic action experience'. Other than that not much is known about it.

What were the main Xbox games to be announced?

Halo Infinite - Xbox owners rejoice. Halo is coming back, once again developed by 343 Industries. Not much is known about it yet, but the trailer ends with a shot of Master Chief.

Forza Horizon 4 - The sequel to the aptly named Forza Horizon 3 is coming in Ocotber. PC and Xbox racers can look forward to getting behind the wheel of more fast and expensive sports cars.

Gears 5 - The next installment in the Gears of War series has been announced. There's not much known yet, but it will feature both split-screen and online co-op play.

Just Cause 4 - Rico Rodriguez has a whole new fictional South American country to destroy - Solas. Expect more wild zip lining, spelunking and just about everything else.

Other big games announced at E3

There have already been a host of new games and trailers unveiled so far. Here are some of the most high profile announced so far.

Fallout 76 - The latest in the Fallout series, this game (released in November) will be an online-only survival game.

The Elder Scrolls 6 - Not much was said about the latest in the popular Bethesda RPG series. But could it be for the PlayStation 5 (whenever that is released).

Cyberpunk 2077 - The latest RPG by CD Projekt Red. They have showed off a shiny new trailer for the hotly-anticipated RPG. If it's half as good as The Witcher 3, then gamers are going to be very very happy.

The YouTube description describes the game as: "Cyberpunk 2077 is a narrative-driven, open world RPG set in the most vibrant and dangerous metropolis of the future — Night City.

"You play as V, a hired gun on the rise, who just got their first serious contract. In a world of cyberenhanced street warriors, tech-savvy netrunners and corporate life-hackers, today is your first step to becoming an urban legend."

Imagine Blade Runner meets Mass Effect meets GTA.

Doom Eternal - Bethesda have announced a sequel to the reboot of the mother of all first person shooters.

Dying Light 2 - The first Dying Light is perhaps one of the greatest zombie shooters (and parkour simulators) of all time. And it's coming back.

Rage 2 - A sequel to Rage. Lots of gun, shoot from your car, sometimes get out your car and shoot, sometimes your car has guns to shoot.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider - Lara is back and she's spent a lot of time in the gym since we last saw her by the looks of it. This will complete the trilogy that was first started back in 2013 when the title was rebooted.

The game is released in September 2018.

Battlefield 5 - Battlefield is back, but this time during the Second World War. Players will be able to take part in more huge player v player online battles.

Spider-Man - It was first revealed two years and now we have a proper in-depth look at gameplay and some of the game's bosses including Rhino and Scorpion.

The PS4 exclusive is released on September 7 and bears some similarities to Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham series in its combat mechanics.

Anthem - Anthem is a game that seems to have been in development for what feels like forever. Details around the BioWare shooter have been scarce but now we have a proper look at what is being regarded as the studio's answer to Bungie's Destiny.

In the four-minute trailer from IGN you see players donning “javelins” go out into the wild, beyond the city, where large kaiju-esque monsters stomp about looking to make your life miserable.

It's looking like a very co-op based game so those who like to play with friends in a crew should be in for a treat.

Starfield - Fans got a first look at Bethesda's much-hyped Stafield. Not much is known about the sci-fi title, other than it is likely to launch on the next generation of consoles.

Jump Force - While Dragon Ball FighterZ was a well received fighter, Jump Force will unite all corners of Anime in a Super Smash Bros. type brawler. The game from Namco Bandai will feature Goku, Naruto, Luffy and more.

There are no details on release or whether it will be a console exclusive yet.

Resident Evil 2 - Return to Raccoon City for this remake of the 90s classic. Released in January 2019.

We didn't see any gameplay but Capcom has said it will feature a "new over-the-shoulder camera mode and modernized control scheme,” so expect this to be more like the universally acclaimed Resident Evil 4 than last year's first person RE7.

Nioah 2 - The biggest surprise announcement from what was a largely low key conference. A sequel to the monster-hunting RPG set in 1600s Japan is coming to PlayStation.

Metro Exodus - Post-apocalyptic Moscow is still awash with mutants and your task is to embark on an epic, continent-spanning journey across a fallen Russia in the greatest Metro adventure yet.

Kingdom Hearts III - This was already shown at the Microsoft conference yesterday. But you can't have too much of a good thing right?

The Quiet Man - Described as 'an immersive, story-driven, cinematic action experience'. Other than that not much is known about it.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 - We didn't hear anything about the gameplay in this cinematic trailer, but it ended with a reveal that BG&E star Jade will make an appearance.
