Halftime Analysis
FloRugby's Philip Bendon with his instant analysis of the first half of the Champions Cup Final:
This half has been a case of capitalizing on the championship minutes.
Both sides are aware of what the other brings in attack.
The Saints double-injury blow early in the match meant they had a period of reshuffling their formations and have slightly adjusted to a narrower attacking shape, which I think is likely down to the threat that the UBB wingers pose.
Scoring right on the stroke of halftime with a man in the sin bin was huge for the Saints. The 10 minutes either side of each half are usually the most important.
It’ll be interesting to see how UBB responds.
For me, if UBB doesn't get more than a score ahead by the 70th minute, the doubts of past failures could be the difference, whereas the Saints are a side that revels in a dog fight late on.

Head-To-Head All Time
It may be surprising, but Northampton and Bordeaux have met one time prior to today's match.
During the Champions Cup Round 1 in 2020, Bordeaux defeated the Saints 16-12.
While names like Furbank, Lucu, Jalibert and Petty show up on the squad sheet from that 2020 match, the teams have changed quite a bit since then. Younger stars, including Fin Smith and Louis Bielle-Biarrey, will have a massive effect on the game's outcome.
