2 adults, 2 young children rescued after tree falls onto house

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Four people have been rescued by the Louisville Fire Department after a tree fell onto their home in the Taylor Berry neighborhood.
At around 10:15 p.m., LFD responded to a call of a tree crashing into a home on Wurtele Avenue, according to Tony Downes with LFD.
After 52 minutes, two adults and two young children were successfully rescued from the house and transported to the hospital by EMS for non-life-threatening injuries, according to LFD.
Officials said crews remained on scene to make sure the residence was a safe as possible under the circumstances.
“Our firefighters responded swiftly and professionally to a dangerous and complex situation,” Captain Donnovan Sims said in a release. “Thanks to their training and teamwork, lives were saved last night.”
Editor’s note: WAVE originally reported three children were rescued from the house, but in an update Sunday morning, Louisville Fire confirmed it was two children and two adults.
