Apple’s iOS 18.5 release isn’t one that brings with it a ton of new features and improvements, and the company’s official release notes have now confirmed that.

The iOS 18.5 update was always expected to be a relatively minor one, with improvements likely to come in the form of bug fixes rather than new features.

Now, Apple’s release notes have confirmed that is definitely the case. The main new additions include a Pride wallpaper and new Screen Time notifications.

The full rundown of changes in the iOS 18.5 release includes:

  • A new Pride Harmony wallpaper
  • Parents now receive a notification when the Screen Time passcode is used on a child’s device
  • Buy with iPhone is available when purchasing content within the Apple TV app on a 3rd party device
  • Fixes an issue where the Apple Vision Pro app may display a black screen

It’s expected that iOS 18.5 will be one of the final updates before Apple announces iOS 19 at the WWDC event in June. That update will likely be released to developers in beta form at that time, but everyone else will have to wait until the fall before they can install it on their iPhones.

The iOS 19 update is expected to bring with it more new features and bigger changes to the way the iPhone works.
