A Quick Recap on Star Wars Outlaws

For the uninitiated, Star Wars Outlaws hit the scene in August 2024 as an open-world game set in the gritty gap between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. You play as Kay Vess, a cunning scoundrel navigating the galaxy’s criminal underbelly. No Jedi tricks, just blasters and brains. It’s a fresh take on the Star Wars universe, and you can learn more at Ubisoft’s official page. The game earned praise for its world-building but stumbled with bugs and lukewarm sales, per Gamespot. Patches have helped, and this DLC could be a game-changer.

What’s “A Pirate’s Fortune” All About?

This DLC is the second story pack in the Star Wars Outlaws Season Pass, following November 2024’s “Wild Card,” which brought Lando Calrissian into the mix. Now, we’re getting Hondo Ohnaka, the pirate legend from The Clone Wars and Rebels. Hondo’s a fan-favorite. Think charisma, chaos, and a knack for turning any situation into a profit. According to Gamerant, expect pirate-flavored missions, new locales, and maybe some high-seas (or high-space) action. It’s dropping at Star Wars Celebration Japan, and that timing couldn’t be more perfect.

Why Star Wars Celebration Japan Matters

Speaking of the reveal, Star Wars Celebration Japan (April 18–20, 2025, at Makuhari Messe) is a massive deal. It’s where fans from across the globe geek out over all things Star Wars: panels, cosplay, you name it. Unveiling “A Pirate’s Fortune” is a genius move by Ubisoft. The energy of thousands of fans could amplify the hype, giving Star Wars: Outlaws a much-needed boost. Check out the full event scoop at StarWars.com.

Fan Hopes and Game Impact

The Star Wars Outlaws community is split; some are stoked for Hondo’s hijinks, while others wonder if this DLC will fix lingering issues like replayability. With no more story packs confirmed after this, per current info, Ubisoft’s got a lot riding on it. Will it deepen Kay’s world or just tack on more missions? Fans are hoping for the former. For more gaming takes, hit up Total Apex Gaming.

What’s Coming on April 18?

Details are still under wraps, but we’re betting on a trailer or gameplay sneak peek. Picture Kay and Hondo teaming up for a heist or butting heads over loot. New planets or ships could also spice things up, given the pirate vibe. Whatever it is, it’s a chance for Ubisoft to show they’re in it for the long haul with Star Wars: Outlaws.

Wrapping Up

April 18, 2025, might just redefine Star Wars Outlaws. With “A Pirate’s Fortune” debuting at Star Wars Celebration Japan, it’s a shot to win back fans and expand Kay’s story. Stay tuned for updates; we’ll keep you posted. May the Force (and a good blaster) be with you!

Great Days Gone Remastered Tips To Make Your Life Easier

In Days Gone Remastered, players are dropped into a hard-science post-apocalyptic Oregon where the management of resources, clever combat strategy, and efficient exploration are all crucial to staying alive. These key strategies involve prioritizing crafting and looting, using stealth to save ammo, repairing and upgrading your motorcycle for long-distance travel, and learning how to use NERO checkpoints and Focus Mode to tip encounters in your direction. Advanced strategies, such as utilizing environmental dangers against Freakers, completing early-game missions for permanent stat boosts, and selecting the right progression skills, all keep making your experience smoother, with every ride and shootout truly feeling more manageable. Survival Essentials 1. Loot Everything Craft Often Scavenge All Enemy and Container Areas: Look around buildings, police cars, NERO camps, and defeated opponents for resources. Everything that’s scrap can come in handy in crafting items like Molotovs, health packs, and traps! Master the Survival Wheel: The wheel (on PC, press and hold Q) can be opened and cycled through categories to craft spur-of-the-moment items, such as bandages, stamina cocktails, and even proximity bombs upon unlocking. Clear Ambush Camps for Blueprints: Not only do you receive supplies, but you also get new recipes to create advanced bombs and throwable distractions. 2. Prioritize Stealth Over Combat Silenced Weapons Sneak Kills: Upgrade silencers and utilize suppressed weapons to silently eliminate Freakers or human enemies without alerting hordes. The best way to win a fight is not to start one at all! Prioritize Headshots in Focus Mode: Use your Focus boost (activated by scroll wheel on PC) to slow down time, staging headshots that save precious ammo and dispatch enemies effectively. 3. Utilize NERO Checkpoints Strategically Kill Speakers First: Kill all speakers first before activating power at NERO injectors to prevent surrounding Freakers. Invest in Stamina Focus Upgrades Sooner: When looting injectors, focus on stamina and focus upgrades; they allow you to travel longer and slow time more often, which is critical during initial game fights. Combat Tactics 4. Kill High-Priority Freakers Screamers First: Their ear-shattering screams immobilize you and summon Swarmers. Eliminate them quickly with firearms or explosive traps. Use Molotovs on Breakers: These tank-like Freakers can eat headshots like it’s nothing; set them on fire at range to wear them down, then kill with ranged attacks. Fewer Freakers will make your life easier in Days Gone Remastered! 5. Use Environmental Hazards Herder Hordes into Traps: Use flares and attractors to herd groups into barbed wire or explosive proximity mines, thinning out a few before you attack directly. Keep Moving: When attacking both individual Freakers and hordes, strafe and backpedal, don’t stand still or you’re an easy target! Resource Crafting Management 6. Stock Up Without Spending All Your Money Loot Police Vehicles: They have plenty of ammo, so purchasing them from the mechanic in early and mid-game can be avoided. Balance Money for Motor Upgrades: Don’t splurge all your money on bullets; first, improve the engine and fuel tank, and then spend the remaining money on bullets. Days Gone Remastered isn’t known for being forgiving with cash, so be careful! 7. Complete Weekly Challenges Early Boost Core Stats by 10–20%: Challenges provide permanent stat increases (health regen, focus time, melee endurance). Do them before story missions so that the game is much easier thereafter. Bike Travel Management 8. Improve Maintain Your Motorcycle Engine, Fuel Tank, and Handling: Upgrade engine first, then fuel capacity, and finally durability for survival on dangerous terrain and fewer stops to refuel. Coast Downhill Modulate Throttle: Half-gas to conserve fuel, and gravity will bring you down hills. This stunt can contribute so much range when travelling in Days Gone Remastered! 9. Strategic Fast Travel Clear Infestation Nests: Clear all the nests between two camps to facilitate fast travel, but remember that not exploring has a cost, that being loot. Use Camps as Supply Hubs: Camps in Days Gone Remastered should be used without hesitation! When you’ve got one secured, return there to refuel, repair your bike, and craft in peace. More Advanced Techniques 10. Optimize Skill Tree Selections Field Fixes Melee Endurance: Fix your club in the heat of battle and increase damage, essential to conserving ammo! Focused Fire Juice Up: Enhance ranged critical hit chance and extend Focus Mode duration, where every shot matters during slow motion. Don’t Be Afraid to Research/Experiment: There are a lot of skills, most of which are graciously explained. Still, there’s always the option of looking at a good and simple list of them all. Or feel free to try out what sounds cool! 11. Use Survival Vision to the Fullest Mark Loot Enemies: Invest points in Survival Vision upgrades to spot resources nearby, hidden doors, and enemy clusters in advance, avoiding surprise attacks. Final Thoughts By integrating these Days Gone Remastered tips, like prioritizing crafting, using stealth, smartly managing your motorcycle, and mastering NERO checkpoints, you’ll transform a perilous journey through Oregon into a streamlined, adrenaline-fueled ride. Early investment in core upgrades, environmental tactics, and high-level skill choices will make every encounter, from lone Freakers to massive hordes, go your way. Stay resourceful, stay mobile, and above all, stay alive!

Five QB options for Saints after Derek Carr's retirement

Five QB options for Saints after Derek Carr's retirement

The New Orleans Saints will officially have a new starting quarterback in 2025 after Derek Carr stunned the NFL world on Saturday by announcing his retirement. However, it is unclear who that quarterback will be. Here are five options that would make sense as the Saints' starting quarterback in Week 1: Tyler Shough The most obvious replacement for Carr is already on the roster. The Saints selected Shough with the 40th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. New Orleans was high enough on Shough to draft him ahead of Jalen Milroe, Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel, to name a few. New Saints head coach Kellen Moore is a former quarterback who has made a name for himself as an offensive play-caller. He may want to start developing Shough right away, even if the rookie will undoubtedly experience some growing pains. Jameis Winston Winston signed a two-year, $8M contract with the New York Giants this offseason, loaded with performance-based incentives. While he is technically second on the depth chart behind Russell Wilson, his path to playing time is complicated. The Giants traded up to draft Jaxson Dart in the first round and are incredibly high on the former Ole Miss star, making Winston the odd man out. Winston played for the Saints for four seasons from 2020 to 2024 and went 6-4 as a starter. If he were to be released or become available via trade, there would be plenty of familiarity between the two sides. Ryan Tannehill After spending the last five years with the Tennessee Titans, Tannehill did not play last season, but he is still looking for a new team. The 36-year-old reportedly drew interest from a contender earlier this offseason. Tannehill, who made the Pro Bowl in 2019, has said he will only sign with a team if the opportunity makes sense. If the Saints want Shough to spend time on the bench, Tannehill might be an intriguing option. Taylor Heinicke Heinicke signed with the Los Angeles Chargers this offseason to back up Justin Herbert, but he probably would not cost much in a trade. If the Saints are looking for experience, Heinicke has plenty of it. The 32-year-old started 29 games during his NFL career, most with Washington. He has passed for 6,663 yards, 39 touchdowns and 28 interceptions. Heinicke also has 608 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground in his career. Aaron Rodgers Ah, yes, the big one. The Pittsburgh Steelers allegedly hope to sign Rodgers, but the four-time NFL MVP remains a free agent. Some believe the two sides have a handshake agreement in place, but a report this week cast serious doubt on that. The Saints should call Rodgers, who may not be sold on playing in Pittsburgh. Though New Orleans is not a legitimate contender, playing for a former quarterback like Moore might interest Rodgers.

Derek Carr retirement accelerates necessary Saints rebuild

Let the search begin. In a surprising turn on Saturday, New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr (shoulder) retired, accelerating the team's hunt for a quarterback of the future. Via a statement, the Saints shared Carr "experienced pain in his right shoulder" during a throwing session in late March, his first since suffering a season-ending injury in December 2024. "Medical scans determined objectively that Derek sustained a labral tear and also had significant degenerative changes to his rotator cuff," the statement continued. New Orleans will get an idea this season of whether the team's next franchise quarterback is already on the roster, although the potential options come with concerns. Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener got chances at the starting role last season as Carr dealt with injuries, and neither showed enough to suggest they could be a long-term option. The Saints selected Tyler Shough, 25, with the No. 40 overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft. The seven-year college football veteran comes with skepticism of his own, suffering three season-ending injuries while at Texas Tech. Draft scouts also had worries about his ability to handle NFL pressure. With Carr out of the picture, Shough could be baptized by fire as a rookie. He should be considered the favorite to be named the starter under first-year head coach Kellen Moore, who hand-picked him in April's draft. Shough could make the Saints' search easy by taking command of the role, although it might be likelier that he's a bridge to the team's next franchise quarterback. The Saints went 5-12 last season, including 0-7 with Rattler and Haener starting. New Orleans could easily be one of the league's worst teams in Moore's first season, which would set it up nicely to select one of the top quarterbacks in what's expected to be stacked 2026 class, even if some (including Texas quarterback Arch Manning) remain in school. LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, for example, would be a natural fit after the Saints hired his father, former Eagles quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier, as their offensive coordinator this offseason. Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik, South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers and Penn State quarterback Drew Allar are among the other players who could be in the running depending on how each performs this fall and during the 2026 pre-draft process. Losing an incumbent starting quarterback would be detrimental to most teams, but the Saints are one of the few teams who could benefit. Carr's two seasons in New Orleans were largely forgettable and only highlighted the team's overall deficiencies. The Saints will save financially thanks to Carr's decision, with NFL insider Ian Rapoport sharing that that the team will recoup his $30M which became guaranteed in March. New Orleans still owes Carr the remaining of his signing bonus, but instead of continuing to spread those payments into future seasons, the Saints will have him off the ledger after 2026. Per Spotrac, Carr should only count $35.67M against the cap in 2026. He had a $63,207,000 2026 cap number before announcing his retirement. The Saints were going nowhere with Carr. By retiring, he's forced the team to finally face its reality. It's time for a rebuild. The next step is finding a quarterback.

Connor Bedard facing major criticism for refusing to play for Team Canada at World Championship

Connor Bedard had a tough second season in the NHL, and now, the rising star is facing criticism for his decision to not attend the World Championship with Canada. The 2025 IIHF World Championship is upon us, and with the arrival of Sidney Crosby in camp, young players such as Porter Martone, Zayne Parekh and Macklin Celebrini will no doubt be thrilled to have Captain Canada and his wealth of experience in camp. Upon arrival, a video was posted to social media of Celebrini and Crosby working on the ice, with No. 87 teaching the young Sharks star a few tricks at the faceoff circle that will no doubt help him as he moves into his second NHL season. This got turned into criticism of another young star in the NHL in Connor Bedard. Reporter Sam McKee called out Bedard for not attending the event that would have been invaluable to him and his development. However, the soon-to-be 20-year-old battled through many injuries during the 2024-25 season but still managed to tally 23 goals and 67 points in all 82 games played. Perhaps he's taking this time to relax away from hockey and to get ready for the 2025-26 campaign in Chicago. Ultimately, we may never know the reason why Bedard isn't at the 2025 IIHF World Championship, and while there's deserved criticism for the young star, it's safe to say that he believes he's doing what is best for his career.
